Walnut Mincemeat Pie

Ingredients: – 1 1/2 cups chopped walnut – 1 cup raisin – 1 cup chopped dried fig – 1 cup chopped dried apricot – 1 cup packed brown sugar

– 1/2 cup brandy or rum – 1/4 cup orange juice – Zest of 1 orange – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1/4 teaspoon ground clove – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 1 prepared pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, raisins, figs, apricots, brown sugar, brandy or rum, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Mix well to combine.

1. Roll out the pie crust and line a 9-inch pie dish with it. Trim the edges if necessary. 2. Spoon the walnut mincemeat filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

1. Roll out the remaining pie crust and place it over the filling. You can either create a full crust or a lattice pattern on top. 2. Trim and crimp the edges of the pie crust to seal the pie.

1. If desired, brush the top crust with a little milk or beaten egg for a golden finish. 2. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.

1. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. 2. Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
