Ingredients 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed 1 tablespoon butter 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion ¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste 5 carrots, chopped 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 onion, chopped 1 pound lean ground beef
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon ketchup ¾ cup beef broth ¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Collect ingredients. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to boil. Add potatoes and simmer 15 minutes until cooked but firm. Mash and drain. Add butter, finely chopped onion, and 1/4 cup shredded cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste; leave aside.
Large frying pan, oil. Cook onion until transparent. Add ground meat and brown. Remove excess fat, then add flour and fry 1 minute. Add beef broth and ketchup. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes after boiling.
Layer ground beef evenly on the bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish. Next, layer mashed carrots. Sprinkle leftover shredded cheese over mashed potatoes.
Pre-heat the oven and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!
