THE BEST METEOR SHOWERS IN 2024

Quadrantids Meteor Shower  Kickstart your celestial journey with the Quadrantids, one of the strongest showers of the year, peaking on the night of January 3rd and the early morning of January 4th. 

Quadrantids Meteor Shower  Best viewed from the Northern Hemisphere, it can produce up to 120 multicolored meteors per hour at its peak in areas free from light pollution. 

Lyrids Meteor Shower  Next up are the Lyrids, which will reach their peak around April 22nd-23rd. Though they typically showcase fewer meteors (around 20 per hour),  

Lyrids Meteor Shower  they’re known for their fast and bright trails, with a chance of surprising onlookers with rare Lyrid fireballs that cast shadows for a split second. 

Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower  May brings us the Eta Aquarids—best viewed from the Southern Hemisphere with rates of about 60 meteors per hour at their peak around May 6th-7th.  

Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower  The Northern Hemisphere can still enjoy the show but expect lower rates of around 30 meteors per hour. 

Perseids Meteor Shower  Arguably the most popular meteor shower, the Perseids will light up summer skies from July 17th to August 24th with their peak around August 12th-13th.  

Perseids Meteor Shower  This epic display can boast over 60 meteors per hour, known for their bright and fast-moving trails, making them perfect for summer camping trips under the stars. 

Draconids Meteor Shower  October ushers in an often overlooked but delightful Draconids shower. It’s set to peak on October 8th-9th but produces a modest number of meteors—ideal for those who prefer a quieter, more relaxed viewing experience.
